Kristin and Carlos had one of those winter wedding days that just works — and we’re still thinking about it. From the surprise snow to the most charming ceremony spot in Green Bay, here are a few of our favorite things about their day.

– They pulled it off in just 90 days. Somehow Kristin and Carlos planned a full wedding in three months and it didn’t feel rushed at all. Every detail felt intentional and perfectly them. We don’t know how they did it but we were impressed.

– The surprise snowfall. It snowed lightly the morning of the wedding, which turned the whole day into something extra. Just enough to feel like a snow globe without freezing anyone out. Winter weddings get a bad reputation they don’t deserve — this day is proof.

– Kristin was Kelly’s childhood neighbor. This one was personal. Watching someone you grew up with walk down the aisle is something else entirely, and being asked to document it was even better.

– Kristin is a true Wisconsin native. She braved the cold in bare arms while the rest of us were layered up and shivering. Absolute legend behavior.

– Heritage Hill State Historical Park is genuinely unlike any other wedding venue in Green Bay. It’s a 56-acre living history museum sitting on the banks of the Fox River, home to 26 historic buildings spanning three centuries of Wisconsin history — from the 1600s all the way to 1940. The Moravian Church, the Victorian Gazebo, the slope down toward the water — it’s the kind of place where the setting does something to people. You’re not getting married in a ballroom that could be anywhere. You’re getting married somewhere that actually means something. It’s a non-profit with a preservation mission, which means the whole place is cared for with real intention, and that comes through. For couples looking for a Green Bay wedding venue with genuine character, this one is a hidden gem worth knowing about.

– The reception was at Chives Schoolhouse in Suamico, and it was exactly right. The space is housed in the historic White Pine Schoolhouse, and it has that rare quality of feeling genuinely cozy rather than just decorated to look that way — like being gathered in an old family dining room where people have been celebrating things for a long time. For an intimate winter wedding with a group that small, it was a perfect fit. The kind of place where the room itself puts people at ease.
