We woke up to yard covered with snow. Really? Snow in April? Thankfully, on the drive to Madison, we watched the weather change from snow to sleet to rain to nothing… sort of. It stayed drizzling on and off throughout the day. Kelsey was a prepared bride, though, and she surveyed her friends for ideas of where to go for an indoor photo shoot, then she and Rob made a last-minute(ish) reservation for a party bus so that they could bring their wedding party to Erin’s Snug Irish Pub for group photos. Even though we did all the group shots inside, brave bride Kelsey, endured some cold (really cold!), windy weather to capture beautifully-lit outdoor shots… I’m still shivering thinking about it.
Both the ceremony and reception were held at Lake Windsor Golf Club. Lake Windsor has tons of windows, which equates to some great light – we loved this venue. A few other highlights of the day included: an iPad sound system (Ray was so excited) =); the sun peeked through for about 5 minutes, right as the ceremony began; Rob and Kelsey updated everyone on Twitter with an iPhone pic (we thought for sure that they’d make the update a part of their ceremony); and the sweetest speech from Kelsey’s father (I held back my tears).
Thank you, Rob and Kelsey, for allowing us to celebrate with you! We hope you enjoyed your 18-day honeymoon in Hawaii! Lucky newlyweds. =)
And I don’t do this often, but since the it was the groom’s band that played at their wedding, I shot a little video of Rob playing with his band, the Red Hot Horn Dawgs.
