A Wedding at Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor, Door County, Wisconsin

Amanda and Alex’s wedding at Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor felt less like a formal event and more like a really good gathering of people who were happy to be together. That’s the best kind. Here are a few things we loved about their day.

– Alex brought his vintage twin-lens reflex camera and we used it. Not every couple shows up with a classic film camera and an invitation to shoot a few frames with it — but Alex did, and we were very into it. There’s something about slowing down mid-wedding day to make a few images on film that feels exactly right.

– The dessert table. No single cake — just a full spread of homemade bars, local sweets, and things worth going back for multiple times. Which guests did. All night.

– Flower crowns everywhere. Amanda’s was perfect for the day, and then guests joined in. There’s something about a field full of people with flowers in their hair that just works.

– Lawn games, a corn maze, and a campfire. Woodwalk gives people room to actually enjoy themselves between the ceremony and reception, and this crowd used all of it. Ending the night around a fire under the stars was a good call.

Woodwalk Gallery is genuinely one of a kind. It’s a working fine art gallery inside a restored 1890s barn on ten acres just outside Egg Harbor, with a wisteria-covered pergola ceremony site and the work of over 75 Wisconsin artists on the walls. Owners Joslyn and Matt got married here themselves in 2015 before taking over — which tells you something about how they run the place. They’re not managing a venue, they’re sharing something they love. For couples looking for a Door County wedding venue that has real creative character and doesn’t feel like every other barn, this is the one worth knowing about.

Amanda and Alex — what a great day. Thanks for having us along.

We're on a treasure hunt for beauty. We want our images to take you right back to the grand moments of your day, and to the milliseconds that flew past, the ones you couldn't stop to breathe and look around and appreciate while they were happening. We don't invent those moments. We recognize them.

Our couples trust us to document the people and moments that matter most to them, which frees them up to spend the day with each other instead of with us.

We're rooted near Viroqua, in Wisconsin's Driftless Region, a small foodie-and-outdoors town that shaped how we see beauty in everyday moments. From there we travel across the state, with Madison and Door County among our most-photographed areas, alongside Milwaukee, Spring Green and La Crosse. Nineteen years in, we still don't take the trust of a wedding day lightly.
