Some wedding days just have a little extra going on — Erin and Dan’s was one of those. Burlap + Bells in Black River Falls sits in a grove of Norway Pines that genuinely stops you in your tracks, and this crew made full use of every inch of it.
5+ Things We Loved About Erin + Dan’s Wedding
– The rain. Nobody wants to hear it leading up to their wedding day, but we’ll say it anyway — rainy weddings are some of our favorites. During the ceremony, the sound of it falling on umbrellas under those tall pines was something else entirely. And then the sky cleared, and there was a rainbow, and then lightning during the dancing. The whole thing felt like the weather was just part of the show.
– Erin and Dan were completely, genuinely present all day. We know that sounds like something you’d hear at every wedding, but it’s actually rare. These two were giddy and up for everything from start to finish.
– A bumpy dirt road that led to the top of a hill, right as the sun broke through the clouds. You can’t plan for moments like that.
– They handed out trophies to honor special guests. Actual trophies. We loved this.
– Group grand march dances. The kind that pull everyone in whether they planned on dancing or not.
– A yellow bus photo booth. It arrived and immediately became the best thing at the party.
– Burlap + Bells itself is worth talking about. Laurie and Jason are the husband-and-wife team running the place, and it shows — it has that feeling of somewhere people actually care about. The ceremony site under the Norway Pines is stunning, the pavilion gives couples a real blank canvas to work with, and the wagon ride to the ceremony is a small detail that guests always remember. It’s a genuinely well-thought-out venue tucked into the woods outside Black River Falls, and we’re always glad to be there.
Erin and Dan, thanks for having us along for this one. It was a great day.
