When we were first married we lived in Chicago for a few years, so when Katie + Riley asked if we’d be up for doing their engagement session in Lincoln Park we said yes without hesitating. It’s one of those spots that never gets old — especially in the fall when the colors are coming in. Katie and Riley are the kind of people who are just easy to be around, which makes a session like this feel less like a shoot and more like a walk with friends who happen to be very photogenic.
Doing an engagement session in a place that’s familiar and comfortable to a couple makes a real difference on the wedding day too — by the time we showed up at the Octagon Barn, we already knew each other. That ease shows up in the photos.
